Hong Kong, 11 June 2018 - NEC Hong Kong Limited announced that the company won the 4 Outstanding Smart City Solutions Awards including “Outstanding Face Recognition Solution”, “Outstanding Smart Lifestyle Centred Solution”, “Outstanding Smart Traffic Management Solution” and “Outstanding Image Analysis Solution” that presented by etnet (members of Hong Kong Economic Times) under the “Hong Kong Smart City Awards 2018” at Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, Hong Kong on 11 JUNE 2018.

The significant event “Hong Kong Smart City Awards 2018” comprises the six major categories under the blueprint of Smart City Hong Kong, including “Smart Mobility”, “Smart Living”, “Smart Environment”, “Smart People”, “Smart Government” and “Smart Economy”, as to recognize, promote and support innovative solutions and strategies that can potentially improve citizens’ lives by increasing efficiency, generating business and upgrading the quality of life. It is also to facilitate the development of future cities that are characterized by enhanced quality of life, robust innovation, advanced competitiveness and efficient management.

NEC Face Recognition Solutions was awarded “Outstanding Face Recognition Solution” under the category of “Smart People”. NEC Face Recognition Solutions achieved the highest performance evaluation in the “Face In Video Evaluation (FIVE) 2017” performed by the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
