Hong Kong, 26 NOV 2018 - NEC Hong Kong participated in the 2^nd edition of Gerontech and Innovation Expo cum Summit (GIES) 2018 from 22 to 25 November 2018, at Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre, Wanchai, Hong Kong.

 

GIES aims to provide better support for the growing elderly people in both the community and institutional settings through technological application and innovation. The event showcased NEC’s latest deployment of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in NEC Elderly Services Solution - Social Robot for enhancing individual’s social and emotional well-being and enriching their interactional environment.

 

The NEC Booth (Booth# L28) showcased the following solutions:

 

1. NEC Elderly Services Solution: NEC Social Robot is designed to stimulate, engage, enable and empower older people with dementia and/or requiring companionship, as well as support their carers in Aged Care Facilities and Home-based care with lifestyle centred services.

 

1. NEC Face Recognition Solutions: NEC’s world No.1 face recognition technology can be implemented as a functionally independent application, or seamlessly integrated into new or existing biometric security solutions by system integrators and solution providers.

 

Ms. Elsa Wong, Managing Director, NEC Hong Kong Limited, spoke on the GIES Workshop of “Let the Social Assistive Robots Help” on 24 NOV 2018 at Workshop Area, Hall 1A&B, Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Centre. Elsa introduced the advancement of society by NEC Social Robot in Elderly Services Solution, and also shared the real cases of Elderly Care Services in Australia that applied the NEC Social Robot.
